My name is Katie. I have loved art all my life. I made my first painting when I was six years old and I have never stopped drawing and painting since. I love all mediums of art and all styles. I try to experiment with all mediums and styles as well. I don't consider my self to be particularly good or bad with art. I'm just person who appreciates and makes art. It is my life and one day I will teach it and I will teach my students the biggest lesson I have ever learned in the artistic world: Make art for yourself. You should not feel pressured to make your work enjoyable for other people. You are first and foremost your biggest fan. If you are happy with it that is all that matters and if others enjoy it then that's a plus! I have learned that the hard way. I used to get discouraged when everyone didn't fall in love with something I created, and I let it bother me for a long time. As soon as I stopped letting that bother me I became a lot happier with myself and my work, and the more confident I was, the more it showed in my pieces and the more they get noticed. I am humbled every time someone tells me good job or nice work. Art for me has been the most rewarding and humbling experience in my life. I love art and I would never give it up.
